One year since Zidane came to Flekkefjord: - I see no reason to ever move from this city

Zidane Moujahidi left his native Morocco to study a master's in process technology in Porsgrunn in 2019. Three years later, he can introduce himself as a Parat Halvorsen employee with one year's experience in a full-time job.

Name: Zidane Moujahidi (27)

Comes from: Casablanca, Morocco

Moved to: Flekkefjord

After finishing his education, Moujahidi looked for work in several places in the country. When he was offered a position as a process engineer at Parat Halvorsen in Flekkefjord, he considered himself lucky.

- I was happy to get a job in my field, he tells Agder.

He went full of expectations to a city he had never heard of before.

Warm welcome

Moujahidi has received a good impression of his new residence. He experiences spotted feathers as pleasant and open people with whom it is easy to get in touch.

- Admittedly, I have no relatives here, but my work colleagues are almost like family to me, and I don't feel lonely.

It is the first time he lives in a small town, where it is quiet and life goes slowly. He says that the difference from the million-dollar city he grew up in is big.

- There are less noises, less flashing lights, less movement: there is simply less stimulation, and I feel so peaceful since I came here. At the same time, I'm not bored and always have something to do.

He believes that Flekkefjord suits him perfectly, and he sees no reason to ever move away from here.

Green nature

Nature is one of the things Moujahidi appreciates most about living in Flekkefjord. He has long longed to be in a place where there is easy access to nature and he enjoys every afternoon outside. He explores the city and the surrounding areas via long running and cycling trips because he also has a great love for sport.

- I go on excursions both in company and alone. It's always fun!

He started running when he was a teenager, and then tried his hand at cycling and swimming. He enjoyed each of the disciplines, so triathlon suited him well. He is not a member of any sports club here in the city, but he is considering joining Kvinesdal Sports Club, which is the closest offer.

- I take it quite seriously. I don't have time to train so much that I become a real professional, but I try not to stay too far away.

- I go on excursions both in company and alone. It's always fun!

Exciting job

Work and sports are some of the most important things for him these days. However, no matter how much he loves sport, he believes that it is very practical to live in one of the houses that the company he is employed in disposes of, ten meters from his workplace. Moujahidi also enjoys working with people and tasks at Parat Halvorsen.

- On a typical day, I am busy with mechanical drawings, process calculations and documentation, he says.

He loves that the job as a designer of electrode boilers is so varied. He is never bored - on the contrary, he feels that he is being challenged and that he is developing.
