Sørlandet Hospital Flekkefjord (SSF) is looking for two committed nurses for 2 x 100 % temporary positions, from 01.08.2024 to 31.08.2026. Possibility of extension.

It is desirable that the applicant has experience from working in hospitals and preferably emergency medical records, and/or that the applicant has an interest in emergency and intensive care medical treatment.

The intensive care unit SSF wants to ensure a future stable coverage rate of intensive care nurses, and has a major focus on recruitment for further education. Applicants/nurses who are interested in this as a career path will have the opportunity to receive an educational position for further education, when they apply and are offered a place at university.

Start date preferably 01.08.2024, or as soon as possible.

In case of internal recruitment, another position may become vacant. 

Work currently every 3rd weekend in currently 3 split shifts. We currently have a calendar plan/"desired rotation". Work must be expected 2 extra weekends a year.

We have fixed professional days in rotation and the possibility of hospitalization for professional top-up in other hospitals. The Intensive Unit is organizationally under the Surgical Department and has 4 intensive care beds, 8 postoperative and 6 day surgery beds.

Work assignments

  • Professional responsibility and practice of intensive care.
  • The unit has ventilator treatment for up to 2 days and NIV treatment 24/7 for patients with intermediate needs.
  • We receive and treat critically ill patients for stabilization before possibly forwarding them to another hospital.
  • The unit is part of the hospital's emergency team, trauma assessment team (formerly trauma team) and medical team. Telemetry monitoring and electrical conversion are performed on the device.
  • Treatment of day surgery patients is under the intensive care unit, in addition to post-operative monitoring and nursing care. Student responsibility/supervision of nursing students.
    Documentation in DIPS and Metavision (electronic patient chart).

Qualifications

  • Nurse with relevant experience from a hospital, primarily an intensive care unit or other emergency department within somatics.
  • Must be fluent in Norwegian orally and in writing.
  • Basic ICT competence.

  • You must be able to work both independently and in a team, work interdisciplinary, have good communication skills, be structured and be able to work under high pressure at times.
  • Focus on quality and patient safety in everything you do must be central.
