Flekkefjord junior high school

Flekkefjord secondary school has approx. 380 pupils from 8th to 10th grade. The junior high school is located in Uenes next to Ueneshallen and Flekkefjord upper secondary school, study center Flekkefjord. There is therefore great activity and a rich youth environment around the school.

Flekkefjord junior high school is environmentally certified, and is a so-called Environmental Lighthouse. Here, we work with environmental measures in everyday life, and to reduce our environmental impact. The students in the 9th grade have, for example, redesigned chairs (chairs donated by NMS Gjenbruk) that were given away to the shops in the city (2023) - so that those who need it can take a break while shopping in the city. The project is based on an idea by Elisabeth Grytten, head of Flekkefjord Handicaplag.

"Understanding, Development, Unity" is the school's vision. The aim is to create a deeper and greater understanding, good academic and social development and at school to experience and be a contributor to good cohesion. Together with FAU, the school has for a number of years worked on European projects where annual visits to, among other things, the prisoner of war camps in Auschwitz have given the students powerful experiences, impressions and ballast for later in life. The school wants to take care of the young people's self-worth, give them faith that tolerance and equality, taking personal responsibility and becoming confident in themselves are values and qualities that provide a basis for becoming co-creators of a good society. Flekkefjord secondary school is a school for the future, where new technology and new tools are used, while emphasizing relationships between people. It is in good meetings between people that the basis for good learning is created.
