Who are we?

We work for sustainable growth and development and support both private individuals and business in Flekkefjord and the rest of the region. We take our social responsibility seriously and give back to the region in the form of gifts to teams and associations and from 2023 our customers will receive customer dividends. 

Gift fund and customer dividend

As a savings bank, we are community-owned and must contribute to the development of the region. We do that when we distribute gifts to small and large initiatives every year; when we sponsor local teams and associations; and when we now also share our profits with the customers. For 2022, we distributed NOK 226 million in customer dividends - and we have set aside NOK 149 million for the gift fund. We give back to the region and we care!

Two centuries of experience

We have been part of the region for almost 200 years. We know the customers, the region, the local communities and the business world. Today, Sparebanken Sør is a competence and technology company. The traditional banking expertise is supplemented by technologists, lawyers, analysts, marketers and a number of other professional disciplines.

Diversity

Diversity is a strength. In 2018, we were the first bank to be certified in equality and diversity - and we were re-certified in 2022. We have around 500 employees at Sparebanken Sør - and about half are women and half are men. In leadership roles, including top management, there are now almost 40 % women.

Certified Environmental Lighthouse

We are a certified Environmental Lighthouse, part of Klimapartnere, and have joined a number of initiatives in the field of sustainability. Sustainalytics is one of the most recognized international sustainability ratings, measuring over 15,000 companies worldwide. We have now been measured twice, and are placed as the world's seventh best "regional bank", and in 34th place out of a total of 1,005 banks in the world. It motivates for further work!
